The Guayaki company absolutely rocks. Not only is their beverage truly amazing -- it will lift your mood, brighten your day, and energize your spirit -- theyve also begun labeling their bottle caps with the message, Label GMOs and the URL NonGMOproject.org As the photos below reveal, this is a very effective way to help spread the message of the importance of food transparency and honest labeling. Everybody wants MORE food transparency Everybody wants to know where their food comes from and how its grown, and the push to label GMOs, restrict their open-field experiments and ban them entirely is accelerating globally. Russia, for example, has banned GMO imports from America and has just launched a new independent study to determine the toxic effects of GMOs. Companies like Guayaki deserve huge kudos for having the courage to put the Label GMOs statement right on their bottle. And heres why: One thing that reflects poorly on the natural products industry is companies and individuals who operate just to make money while never having the balls to take a stand for whats right. You see this all the time with online retailers, manufacturers and so-called gurus who say things like, I dont want to get involved in the politics of food. Fortunately, there are also a great many companies that take a stand and push hard for social justice, labeling truth and honest food. Those companies include Nutiva, Natural News and of course the champion of us all, Dr. Bronner. One Degree Organics is another shining example of food transparency, and even Barbaras has committed to moving toward a goal of 100% non-GMO ingredients. Natures Path is also a wonderful example of an honest food company that really takes a stand for clean, non-GMO ingredients. These companies deserve your business. I encourage all Natural News readers to help support companies that are standing for food transparency and social justice on the issue of GMOs and organics. In fact, I would go so far as to say STOP supporting retailers and manufacturers that dont openly advocate GMO labeling and the complete avoidance of GMO-derived ingredients. This includes many vitamin and supplement companies that are still using GMO-derived maltodextrin made from GM corn. (Wise companies have already switched to things like tapioca starch.) Why I love Guayakis Yerba Mate About the Guayaki product itself, this is truly an amazing, inspiring beverage. I used to think it was just another tea, but its much more. Yerba Mate is a mood-lifting plant. It quite literally improves your mood and outlook on life. You might even call it Mother Natures Antidepressant. The blends created by Guayaki are incredibly delicious. I like the Mint Terere the best. Its sweetened with organic cane sugar, and the taste is just perfect. You can find Guayaki beverages at most health food stores and online retailers. They also sell Yerba Mate tea bags so you can make your own (and use your own sweeteners, if you wish). Those tea bags would make a great gift for friends this holiday season. Heres a link on Amazon if you want to see what Im talking about.
