The Helpless Cry Pastor Leon’s SOAP: Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer November 12: Job 37, 38; 1Corinthians 12 Scripture: Job (NIV) 38:39 Do you hunt the prey for the lioness and satisfy the hunger of the lions 40 when they crouch in their dens or lie in wait in a thicket? 41 Who provides food for the raven when it’s young cry to God and wander about for lack of food? Observation: Job has asked God so many questions but here God is asking Job questions. Here we see that God even considers the hungry cry of the young raven as a prayer to Him! The young raven is hungrily waiting for its mother to bring food. It is unable to get any food for itself. But God hears it’s helpless prayer. Application: If God hears the helpless cry of the young raven, how much more does He consider my cry for help!!! Later Jesus said my Heavenly Father cared for the sparrows and that I am of more value than many sparrows. (Matthew 10:29-31) Prayer: Heavenly Father, You hear the cry of the young ravens, and I am glad to know you hear my cry too! You know how much I need You!
