The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Movie Review: 6/10 Concluding its epic story in unfortunately lackluster fashion this movie is a constant mixture of good, bad and just plain wrong as it tries to frantically tie up every loose end with awkwardly forced drama, silly corniness and an extremely choppy pace which makes this final installment entertaining at times but mainly an overall disappointment. The best part of this movie is actually its opening act which starts with a bang and is able to create a wonderfully thrilling sequence of excitement which leaves you thirsty for more. The problem is that throughout the rest of the movie nothing is able to deliver on that promise which makes everything feel very underwhelming. Even the movies countless battles fall mostly flat as they are for the most part uninspired and truly hard to follow. On top of that the movie has a very unwelcome cheesy nature to it as it continually falls back onto cringe worthy humor and tiresome cliches which suck out all the entertainment value. Thats not to say that this movie is truly bad because it does have its moments of greatness and is quite watchable but there is no denying how ultimately unrewarding this a story is made to feel as it ends itself on such a step down of quality.
