The Honolulu Council of MoveOn.org is looking for a motivated Council Co-Organizer to lead our Council on issues around climate change. This is of pressing importance because we realize that without a stable natural environment, all of our progressive causes we champion may be for naught amid a degrading planet. Consequently, we are in dire need of someone to make a minimal time commitment of volunteering with our Core Council for the purpose of coordinating with other local organizations leading on climate issues. Your commitment would be to participate in bi-weekly, hour-long conference calls with our Hawaii Councils, reach out to and coordinate actions with other local groups tackling climate issues, and take a lead on organizing occasional rallies or protests. You won’t be doing this alone, however: Your role as a climate leader for MoveOn Honolulu will be substantially supported by all of our Core Council Members who offer their experience and skills in community organizing at your disposal.
