The Ides of March wasnt terrible in the end, nothing much happened - TopicsExpress

The Ides of March wasnt terrible in the end, nothing much happened was all. The credits show it was a circlejerk of a production that didnt even have to be good to get made. Latest (Ive seen) of these new award-hungry films that mistake no arc/mundanity for artsy. The Ghost Writer got attention because of its director, and that was all it needed. Moneyball was script-edited by Aaron Sorkin and had Brad Pitt, and that was all it needed. This starred Clooney (and was partially written and directed by him), Gosling, Giamatti, and Philip Seymour Hoffman and that was all it needed. If a movie has to sacrifice being realistic for easy storytelling or informing the audience, is that really the mark of a good movie at all? I dont think so.
