The Ifugao Provincial Sports and Development Council (PSDC)chaired by Governor Denis Habawel decided during a meeting at the Capitol that the Provincial meet will be held December 8-12, 2013 in Lagawe. Among the traditional ballgames to be played are basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, sepak takraw, lawn and table tennis. Also at stake are medals in swimming, arnis, boxing and the individual games in track and field. Ethnic games are also added to be competed. All eleven towns are expected to participate including a contingent composed by a selection from the Ifugao Private High Schools Athletic Association (IPSAA). The winners of this meet will form the core of the provincial team to the regional schools meet which accordingly is scheduled early part of February, next year in Benguet. The Sports Council, pending the passage of an ordinance for its permanent institution is established thru an executive order as a sports policy making body for the province.
