The Importance of Prayer: Part 22: Prayer makes us receive the spirit wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God. Apostle Paul in the book of Ephesians 1:15-19 says, wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all saints, cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my PRAYERS, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us- ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,..... We see Apostle Paul continuing in prayer and praying that the church may receive wisdom and revelations in the knowledge of God. Without wisdom and revelations,you cannot get the mysteries(wondrous things,Psalm 119:18) of the word of God, you will be reading the bible just like reading the newspaper or novel without understanding and revelations same way it happened to the ethiopian eunuch on his return from Jerusalem before he met Philip( Acts 9:27-31). This is the reason Paul prayed for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God over the church. Wisdom is very important in the life of every believer, and if one lacks wisdom,he or she needs to ask of God by prayer. The book of James 1:5 says, is any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Gods desire is to give us his children wisdom but we need to ask in prayer with faith. Wisdom is very important in the life of every believer for it contains great treasures. Proverbs 4:5-9 says get wisdom, get understanding; forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee, love her and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is a principal thing: therefore get wisdom and with all thy getting get understanding, exalt her and she shall promote thee; she shall bring thee honor when thou dost embrace her, she shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. Our Lord Jesus succeeded in his mission because he had the spirit of wisdom upon him( Isaiah 11:1-3). There are two forms of wisdom, earthly(sensual, devilish) and the wisdom that comes from above( James 3:13-18). May the Lord God grant you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him the same way it was upon Jesus as you continue to pray. If there is a man or woman to pray, there is a God to give wisdom, the wisdom that comes from above(James 3:17-18)Amen. Pray everyday, pray everytime..Remain Blessed...Shalom....
