The International Society of Family Law, in conjunction with the Bahamas Bar Association, has issued a call for papers on children’s rights for a conference that will take place from November 19-21 at the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau, Bahamas. The theme of the conference is Our Children, an Endangered Species and the feature addresses will be delivered by International Society of Family Law president Prof Marsha Garrison of Brooklyn Law School and retired Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) judge Desiree Bernard. According to The International Society of Family Law, the issue of children’s rights continues to sit on a back burner in the Caribbean region and doesn’t receive the urgent attention it requires while things that can be considered of lesser importance take front row.
