The International Training course “Youth Dialogue for Understading and Diversity” 19 – 27 October 2013, Tsaghkadzor, Armenia DESCRIPTION The Youth Club for Intercultural Dialogue, Democracy and Peace (Armenia) in cooperation with its partners from Lithuania, Estonia , The Netherlands, Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova organizes 7days International Training course "Youth Dialogue for Understanding and Diversity. The aim of the training course is to enable participants to more effectively deal with issues of intercultural dialogue in a multi-cultural youth work context. tool for their future activities in the field of intercultural dialogue. Objectives: - To develop knowledge and skills of participants in the field of intercultural dialogue; - To familiarise the participants with commonly used terminology and language of intercultural dialogue; - To help participants reflect on the competence needed for using different approaches to addressing intercultural dialogue in their environment and countries; - To use the multi-cultural group of participants as a learning space on individual roles and competencies in relation to the topic of the project; - To provide participants with a platform for exchange on best practices in relation to youth work and intercultural dialogue; - To provide the space for sharing realities and identifying challenges and possible solutions in addressing intercultural dialogue in youth work in participating countries; - To help participants to understand the interrelation between intercultural dialogue and youth participation; The training course will allow participants to: - Raise their awareness on topics of Intercultural dialogue and related areas; - Get to know better the Youth in Action programme, its priorities, philosophy and approach to youth projects; - Learn the management of European and international youth project, in particular youth exchanges; The training course is financially supported by the Youth in Action Programme of the European Union. PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS All candidates applying for the course should: - be able to work in English; - be interested in project management and development of project applications to Youth in Action programme; - be youth worker, who is working or would like to start working on the issues related to intercultural dialogue and are interested in the topic - be supported by sending organisation after the course - be ready to attend the course on its whole duration - have motivation to actively participate, learn and contribute to the course as well as to be agents of change and disseminate further new experience and learning in their realities. THE METHODOLOGY USED The methodology of the training course is based on the approaches of non-formal education and intercultural learning. The great part of the training course programme will be Simulation on development of real youth exchange projects on the issues related to Intercultural dialogue. Participants will have a chance to experience variety of methods offered by the programme of the course, e.g.: • Ice-breaking exercises, • Group-building and team-building exercises, • Leadership, teamwork and group-work skills development tasks, • Practical challenges and skills development exercises, • Group discussions, • Site visits, • Intercultural experiences, • Individual reflection, • Reflection groups. THE TEAM OF TRAINERS The programme of the course is designed and conducted by a team of experienced trainers: - Ljuba Lissina (Estonia) – the Pool of Trainers of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe; - Irina Pijevskaia (Moldova) – SALTO EECA Recourse Centre COSTS AND TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT YCIDDP will cover • Accommodation, food , the costs of the programme • 70% of the travel costs of foreign participants, funded by the Youth in Action Programme, therefore, the travel expenses will be reimbursed according to the rules of the Programme and upon the submission of financial proofs.
