The LSESU Actuarial Society invites you to the 2nd practical session we are having for the year. This is another chance for you to experience being an actuary and working with data and spreadsheets. The 2nd practical session is on pension, conducted by Mr. Richard Gibson from Barnett Waddingham, a leading firm in the pension industry. In this session, you will be introduced to practical work in the pension sector, working on pension scheme valuation for retirees. About Mr. Richard Gibson, Mr. Richard Gibson graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge, with a degree in Mathematics. He qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2010. He specialises in pension scheme work on behalf of trustees including valuations, litigation support and trust appointments. He also advises corporate sponsors on accounting disclosures, M&A transactions and share option valuation. Richard has carried out pension scheme investment strategy reviews, including construction and analysis of asset-liability models and has helped guide trustees through the process of risk transition.
