The Libertarian Party retained presidential ballot access in 30 states following this years midterm election earlier this month; this is the best ever midterm result for the LP, and best of any third party in 100 years. Much of the reason for this outcome is that 26 states have made it easier for a party to remain ballot-qualified in the last 30 years. And now is the time when legislators are deciding which bills to introduce. Many states have strict deadlines for introducing bills. Contact your state legislators if your state ballot access laws need to improve and your state LP (see lp.org/states ) to coordinate a ballot access improvement legislative lobbying campaign with their efforts, find out about helping them get signatures to get on the ballot for 2016 if they are not on already, or seeing about running for office for 2015, 2016, 2017 or 2018 races ( lp.org/run-for-office ).
