The London and North Eastern Railway Class J39 was a class of 0-6-0 steam locomotive designed for freight work. They were based on the previous Class J38 but with larger driving wheels. A total of 289 J39s were built over fifteen years. They were designed by Nigel Gresley and introduced in 1926.
