The Lord gave me a great reminder today of who He is. Seasons change-sometimes it takes a little longer to roll into the next season and the shift may cause us to be physically sick for a day or two until our bodies adapt to the change in the weather. Good moms and dads diligently prepare their kids for the change with warm jackets and long pants. The Lord is a good Father to us in the same way-preparing us for the next season because its coming even if we dont like it. The shift can make us spiritually sick and like the good Father He is-His warm coats and long pants are prayers wrapped in His word. He beckons us to take care of ourselves so that the shift into the next season happens with grace and submission naturally. When we hold tight to summer because winter is cold and uncomfortable, we miss out on a natural process for growth. Winter season in the earth is the only time all year that some trees grow roots; pressing deeper into the nutrient rich soil, deeper and deeper protecting itself from the harsh cold, it forges its way and establishes its place firmly grabbing hold of the sustenance of its very existence. We are to be trees of righteousness firmly established so that when Spring comes-our fruit will be sweet, our flowers and leaves will be brilliantly beautiful bursting with color and most of all- right on time and in season! #timehop #october2013
