The Mass is my source of strength in a faraway place like tanzania, africa.....the readings all talked about love...fr laurian shared this story:.....a man was walking in the garden when he saw an angel writing something in a piece of paper..he approached and as he peeked on the shoulder he saw that the angel was writing names under the column People who love God...he noticed that his name was not there so he asked the angel...the angel just smiled and continued writing..man was so sad because he knew he loves God more than anyone....the nbext day he saw the angel again doing the same thing but this time the column was People who love their neighbors....once again his name was not there...he then saw another piece of paper and this time the angel smiled and said: look over the names for surely you will find your name....lo and behold, beautifully etched on the paper was his name under the column: people who love God and Neighbor......the message in todays Mass clearly shows that it is not enough love God but we are also to love our neighbors...what we do to the least of our brethren we also do it to Him...the Cross symbolically shows this: the vertical line shows our relationship with God while the horizontal line speaks of our relationship with our neighbors....Now: where do you think will you find your name: will it be under the column People who love God only?...People who love neighbors? ....or will it be People who love God and neighbor?
