The Metro Theater Council Hall in Mangere East was rocking this morning with the sounds of music (drums & singing) by our Vaka Tautua Cook Islands Older Peoples Group in Mangere. To conclude their final day for their weekly day programme for 2014; theyve put on a beautiful display of their arts & crafts theyve toiled throughout the year and what an excitement for Vaka Tautua to witness the works of these gifted hands. The group have also invited all the supporting organisations whose been involved with the group to present health messages, donated resources and have made a huge contribution to the weekly activities of the group. These VIPs was honoured by being gifted from the group a pair of embroided cushions. The day was filled with so much joy and laughter! We had the privileged of hearing from 2 invited guests - Vaka Tautuas new HR Manager Kate Donley who attended on behalf of VTs CEO Mark Gosche and Manu Fotu who and will always be part of our Cook Island family. The group will resume their weekly day programme with our 7 other ethnic groups in February 2015. Wishing them a very Xmas and happy New Year!
