The Motivation of our Motivation Doing another round of work - TopicsExpress

The Motivation of our Motivation Doing another round of work after a great Pilates class this morn and thinking quite a bit about the hilarious quip that todays blog posting is based upon: Mother Teresa didn’t go around complaining about her thighs. She had stuff to do. Hahaha! Wow. What a solid slap in every nit-picking face (including mine) as this snarky little quip reminds us of what can happen in us when purpose is or isn’t happening through us. And while I wouldn’t dare prompt us to compare our life details to the plight and purpose of Mother Teresa, I do encourage all of us to take a closer look at the motivation behind what’s motivating us. Specifically in relation to our fitness goals. And though we can easily respond with what I know many of us immediately thought in response, ‘Well if Mother Teresa had walked around with my thighs, she would’ve complained too’, the truth beyond that response is that even if our thighs are in tip top shape, quite a few of us would indeed find another body part to moan and groan about. Why do we complain when most anything we don’t want or don’t like is ultimately in our power to change? What are we complaining about when there really is always something to be incredibly thankful for? And when did we get to the point of deeming it okay to major on the actual minor details of our fitness journey such as the definition of our arms while losing focus on the major stuff like the vast list of health conditions and diseases we curb in the process of cultivating our health? While it’s true that when we feel that we look good, we often feel much better about ourselves, our life details are a far bigger deal than how we feel about the surplus of fat or lack of definition on our thighs or any other facet of our body. And even more, our journey to getting our health and fitness in order is far more significant than how we and our specific body parts look. The more I train and work alongside determined and focused individuals, the more I’m continually discovering an obvious truth. When our motivation behind the motivation of cultivating and maintaining a fit and healthy body is far beyond how we want our thighs, our butt, our abs, or our arms to look like, the more significant and lasting the transformation is overall. When we choose not only to take keeping healthy and fit off the back burner of our life but also have purpose in the process far beyond any vain physical goal, the results are unbelievably lasting and the journey is far more rewarding. Let’s focus in on the fact that taking care of our bodies not only opens the door for us to rock any size or physique that we endeavor to have but it also affords us to rest our bodies well as we regroup after the hustle and bustle of our often long and stressful days are wrapped. Let’s look beyond the details of how we desire to look and focus on the incredible joy of having the energy to sustain the often demanding schedules of our life details. Let’s see the big picture of the fact that taking care of our body is far more about our body’s optimal functioning and health than merely maintaining its facets of fabulosity. We’ve got stuff to do. With a purpose far more important than the appearance of our thighs. #blog #new #winspirefitness #dotcom #worklaughwin #inspire #trainingockstars #Pilates #AwesomeSongBy #Banks #Drowning
