The NAPW Ocala Chapter had our monthly social meeting at Ruby Tuesday at 3500 S.W. College Road #100, Ocala, Florida on May 28th, 2013. We met in the private side room, with networking from 6pm to 7pm with drinks and appetizers, 7pm to 7:30 pm dinner was served and 7:30 to 8:30 was the NAPW meeting. President Lisa Wyatt started the social meeting by welcoming NAPW members Dr. Barbara Brooks, Patricia Haley, Jeanne Henningsen, Lizzie Lennon, and Patricia Mullin, and also by welcoming the NAPW guests attending who were Gloria Bevan, Regis Boatwright, Delores Clair-Macon, Jane Moerlie, and Theresa Roberts. Every member and guest is welcome to bring friends and colleagues to each and every NAPW social/meeting. Due to the comments from the group, we will continue to hold our “Social/Meetings” at Ruby Tuesday for the forthcoming months, in the evenings, from 6ish to 8ish, a place where we can have drinks, good food, network, have a speaker from our group on topics of interest to our community, and the fun part of drawing for door prizes! Flexibility is the name of my game, and discovering what works best for all concerned. Hope to see more of you this coming month; I truly believe you will find it extremely worthwhile! Networking = women doing business with women! Ruby Tuesday has a great room for us, with room enough for around 30 people, and tables where we can encourage our members to bring their wares, brochures, etc to feel free to sell and hand out at every meeting. Let’s network! Let’s have fun doing it! NAPW member and our Community Services Director, Dr. Barbara Brooks, presented President Lisa Wyatt with an appreciation plaque for all her support to the R.A.M.A.L. organization over the past year. Thank you Barbara! It is indeed an honor to have you in our group as we observe and participate in the community services that you provide our local area! NAPW member and our Social Director, Patricia Haley held a 50/50 raffle that helps towards the costs of our meetings, door prizes and our upcoming 1st Anniversary celebration on June 25th. Guest member Gloria Bevan won the 50/50 drawing, a total of $19 which was 50% of the monies collected. She gracefully returned the winnings to Patricia Haley, so we are happy to report that we have $48 to help defray expenses for our next meeting! Membership Director Pat Mullin passed around an attendance sheet that everyone could sign in and give contact information. We had 10 ladies at our meeting and we all had a great time! Director Pat is in the process of compiling information from our NAPW Ocala Chapter members so that she can put together a “directory” that is at everyone’s fingertips when it comes time to look for a business that you need for different professional needs. I am looking forward to Pat’s energy and organization as we continue to build our local NAPW Ocala Chapter. Social Director Patricia Haley and Membership Director Pat Mullin explained in detail the planning for our June 25th, 1st Anniversary NAPW Ocala Chapter Open House, which will be held at the Ramada Inn, (they just changed ownership to Motel 6), in the Stallion Room, 3810 NW Blitchton Road, Ocala, FL from 6 to 9 pm. We will be furnishing heavy appetizers, (so no need to plan on preparing your own dinner!), snacks and cold drinks, with a no host bar that will be available. Members are encouraged to bring their spouses/significant others and friends to this event, as it is a celebration of our first year establishment of the NAPW Ocala Chapter. I am continuing to see a growing number of NAPW members and guests doing business with each other, women doing business with women, that’s what NAPW is all about and certainly a vision I totally embrace! After giving out our door prizes, which Dr. Barbara Brooks furnished to all of our members as appreciation of our support over the past several months, our meeting adjourned at 8:10pm. We are all eager to meet more of our members at our next meeting!
