The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Education, Hussaini Abubakar, on Wednesday warned that anyone found aiding examination malpractice would be prosecuted. Abubakar gave the warning while monitoring the ongoing NECO examination in some secondary schools in Nasarawa-Eggon Local Government Area of the state. He said the ministry would not spare anyone found indulging in any act of examination malpractice irrespective of his status. The commissioner urged principals, teachers, supervisors, parents and students to join the fight against the menace and restore sanity in the education sector. At Government Secondary School Alogani, the commissioner expressed disappointment at the examinations supervisor when he discovered that he could not account for two question papers and answer sheet. According to him, the supervisor is expected to open and count the question papers and answer sheet in the presence of the students and invigilators. ``He cannot claim ignorance of the whereabouts of the missing papers, it is either sold or given to someone outside to write examination,” he said. He ordered the member of the monitoring team to reflect the missing of the question papers and answer sheet in their reports. Abubakar said the ministry would take serious action against the principal of the school and the supervisor for the missing papers so as to serve as a deterrent to others. ``We will take a serious action on what has happened here today by punishing all those that are supposed to ensure the smooth conduct of the exams but chose to do otherwise,” he said. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the commissioner also visited Government Science School Nasarawa-Eggon, Eggon Community Secondary School, GSS Alogani, GSS Mada Station and GSS Igga.
