The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), the Number One Bank in the UAE, announced the donation of AED15 million to a number of charitable and humanitarian organizations in the UAE in support of “Zayed Day for Humanitarian Works” and to confirm the Bank’s commitment to support the community and philanthropy. “NBAD is more than just a financial institution, the Bank is committed to contribute to the well-being of communities and promote responsible corporate citizenship and responsibility,” said Abdulla M.S. AbdulRaheem, the Group Deputy Chief Executive of NBAD. “NBAD’s spirit of giving is inspired by the principles of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founder of the UAE.” Mr. AbdulRaheem continued: “The late Sheikh Zayed exemplified philanthropy and generosity. His legacy continues to guide our country and this bank as we are loyal to our heritage and global in our outlook.” NBAD will donate to major charitable and humanitarian organizations such as Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, UAE Red Crescent, The Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al Nahyan Charitable & Humanitarian Foundation, UAE Zakat Fund, Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs, and Faraj Fund. Launched by the Cabinet of the UAE, the “Zayed Day for Humanitarian Works” is held in the memory of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which falls on 19th Ramadan, to honor his work in laying down the foundations of charitable and humanitarian work in the UAE and abroad. In addition to financial support, NBAD responded to the call for the Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work during the Holy Month of Ramadan by organizing exhibitions featuring paintings by special needs children. The exhibitions are organized, in collaboration with Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre for Disabled Children, in NBAD’s main branches in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The paintings are displayed for sale and all revenues supported children with special needs. “We take pride to join in an initiative that aims to spread the spirit of solidarity and the culture of giving and encourage Emiratis and residents of the UAE to help people in need,” said Mr. AbdulRaheem. “Through this event, we follow the steps of the founding father of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in supporting charitable events and helping humanity around the world.”
