The National Community Safety Network (NCSN) is a practitioner led - TopicsExpress

The National Community Safety Network (NCSN) is a practitioner led organisation supporting those involved in promoting community safety/crime reduction throughout the United Kingdom. It was established in 1995 as a small group of like minded professionals meeting to provide support for the new role of “community safety officer” and has now grown to represent 500 organisations within the statutory, voluntary and private sectors. NCSN is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. Their mission is to encourage and support the activities of those involved in making communities safer across the UK by listening to and supporting our members, co-ordinating local and national events, and providing a platform for their voice to be heard. NCSN believes that partnership working means producing activities that support each partner’s priorities within a system of respect, shared responsibility and mutual agreement. Changes brought about by economic restraints across the country are all impacting on service delivery and there needs to be a concerted effort for everyone to engage – bottom up AND top down! Their vision is to maintain NCSN as an independent, credible and effective voluntary sector charitable organisation that is best placed to support and encourage community safety activities, inspire good practice and provide a platform for the views of those involved in community safety operations. NCSN are keen to have Neighbourhood & Home Watch members involved in their activities and want to listen to what you have to say.
