The New York Knicks woes continued in the NBA on Thursday as they suffered a 14th straight loss, thrashed by the Houston Rockets.James Harden had 25 points and nine assists as the struggling Knicks (5-34) were beaten once again, losing 120-96 at Madison Square Garden. Not only have the poor Knicks lost 14 straight but they have tasted defeat in 24 of their past 25 matches. Dwight Howard had a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Rockets (25-11), while Trevor Ariza scored 18 points. Donatas Motiejunas (17 points), Patrick Beverley (14), Jason Terry (14) and Corey Brewer (11) were all valuable contributors. Travis Wear had 21 points off the bench for the Knicks, who were without injured duo Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire. The Charlotte Hornets overcame the Toronto Raptors 103-95 at Air Canada Centre. Gerald Henderson (31 points) and Kemba Walker (29) combined for 60 points, while Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Kyle Lowry scored a team-high 24 points for the Raptors. The Portland Trail Blazers eased past the Miami Heat 99-83 at Moda Center. LaMarcus Aldridges 24 points and 12 rebounds helped the Trail Blazers to their win, with the Heat scoring just 35 points in the second half.
