The New York Times has a front page story about the apparent beheading of a second US journalist, Steven Sotloff. I note that…a source described as a family member asserts that the White House is lying about the date of the alleged murder…that there are anomalies in appearance described by the reporter between two images of Mr Sotloff, one in the video..and..something quite important that no one is discussing -- the source of the video is not ISIS or a verified ISIS website or verified ISIS source of another kind. Rather it is a US entity called the SITE intelligence group, a research firm that tracks jihadi online postings. Yet the NYT and others dont say that THAT is the source…a Western private company that profits from identifying (or verifying, or verifying?) what it calls Jihadi content. They actually state as Mark Landler and Eric Schmidt of the NYT do..that An Islamic militant group released a video. But we dont know that; we know that SITE SAYS an Islamic militant group released a video. So please research SITE…and please contact and ask the NYT Ombudsman per the Mark Landler and Eric Schmitt story…how they can verify that what SITE says is indeed the origin of this video? Post the ombudsmans response…thanks...
