The ODA Volleyball team ventured to Lakewood Ranch High School to take on the Mustangs in the final game of the pre-season Classic. Coach Betz write up is below. The team opens up the regular season on the road, next Tuesday, 8/26 at Ft. Myers Gateway Charter. Game time is 7 PM. In the final match of the Lakewood Ranch High School preseason volleyball tournament, Lakewood Ranch defeated the Out of Door Academy in 3 straight games, 12-25, 9-25, 15-25. The Mustangs held the Thunder to just a . 062 hitting percentage, despite senior returner Natalie Buffett contributing 8 kills. New member of the team, eighth grader Adelaide Mahler earned her first block and first kill as a varsity player, both in game three. Sophomore Greta Holland served up two of the teams 7 total aces during the night. I reminded the girls that we want to challenge ourselves throughout the season by playing tough opponents because that is what will pay off come playoff time, first year head coach Stefanie Betz said following the match. This is when we put the work in. The reward comes later.
