The Origins Centre, housed at Wits University seeks to restore the African continent to its rightful place in history – at the very beginning of mankind’s journey to humanity. Origins Centre seeks to recruit Interns, based in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. They encourage graduate and postgraduate applicants from archaeology, anthropology, fine art, History of art, design and technology, anatomy, heritage and education to apply. The Interns will work on 3, 6 and 12 months contract on a variety of projects. The internship will provide valuable work experience and will be a chance for these person to use their skills on practical projects. This work can be project based, which could form the basis of a postgraduate research project. Required skills and interest: • Social media and technology; Museum education; • Forensic archaeology or anatomical science – exhibitions; • Human rights exhibition – in March highlighting the history of the San; Saharan Rock Art - working towards our exhibition in July; Fine art and design – creating an illustrated guide to our indigenous garden. Creating artworks on our ‘graffiti’ wall to promote upcoming exhibitions and events.
