The Pet Spot at 2503 Norwood Avenue posted a notice on its doors and on its Facebook page Thursday, stating that due to a stomach illness dogs there have experienced, they will be closed until Monday, Aug. 19. Grooming and boarding services continue, the resort said. The Ohio Department of Agriculture released a warning Friday stating, "Following reports of several pet deaths in the Norwood area, the Ohio Department of Agriculture today is urging owners to closely monitor their dogs for signs of illness. Affected dogs suffered from severe bloody diarrhea and vomiting. Owners should observe their dogs and contact a veterinarian immediately if they show similar symptoms." "At this time, laboratory test results are still pending and the cause of the deaths has not yet been determined," ODA said.
