The Piano Starts Here Series returns this Wednesday at 7:30pm with the music of Charles Mingus! Every month, Seattle’s finest come together to play the music of the world’s greatest and most influential pianists on The Royal Room’s own Steinway B grand piano! As Charles Mingus’ most prolific piano album approaches its half-century birthday, Piano Starts Here uses “Mingus Plays Piano” as a starting point from which to honor and explore Mingus’ piano compositions. All Star Dub Session to follow, a collective of rotating seasoned musicians who perform live improvisational Dub Reggae.
