The Pier hill regeneration was a complete waste of money. Since the regeneration it has been dug up time and time again. The flooding of the cafes beneath was first blamed on the fountains so they had to be concreted over. Hundreds of thousands of pounds has been spent on waterproofing the cafes that originally had no problems. Some of these cafes are still being worked on. The loss of income from that boarded up unit is huge, let alone the eyesore it has become!! Past generations had the right idea when they laid out Pier Hill, then along comes a council causing a multitude of problems that have lasted to this very day. Looking towards the future when making improvements is necessary but in the process we should always respect the past, and because this is not happening our town is suffering greatly!
