The Prince Inside: I’m writing this book to clarify some of the ways men think and feel so that women can gain a clearer understanding of some of the behaviors of the men in their lives that flummox them, make no apparent sense, or seem surly and grouchy and stereotypically male. Men have the same full range of feelings that women have and we experience just as much joy or suffering because of emotions, but we process them in a different way, at a different pace, and with a different end result from what women would feel if they were having the same thoughts and feelings. Of course, we have different thoughts and feelings, which is why men are as confusing to women as women usually are to men — because we, in fact, are feeling things very differently and coming to very different conclusions as a result of those feelings. The framework is similar, but the manifestation and the routes the trains take from one stop to the next take us to different destinations. So, here we are — a small manual to help you figure out how to find the Prince Inside all the men in your life, partly by encouraging that aspect of the men you know, and partly by encouraging you to change some of the beliefs you have away from the socially programmed “men are blockier women” ideas, which are misleading and downright damaging for all of us. The struggles you have had in your relationships with men will be put into a new perspective and a clearer light than ever before, and you will have new tools to help you manage whatever he throws at you — which he will do, most of the time, without ever realizing it!
