“The RNC launched a multimedia ad campaign this week in Minnesota and 13 other states in an opening salvo to unseat Franken and other Democrats.” -- St. Cloud Times, 3/18/2014 Dear Randall, We all know that National Republicans, with the help of the Koch brothers and their special interest allies, are trying to buy Senate seats in 2014. And one of their top targets is Minnesota. My friend Al Franken is the Senator up for reelection. He’s a huge part of our Democratic coalition. His work for the families of Minnesota -- fighting to make college more affordable, protecting the promises we’ve made to seniors through Medicare and Social Security, supporting marriage equality, and a host of other issues -- is unparalleled. Which is probably why radical Republicans want him out of office. This month is the end of the first FEC fundraising quarter of the election year. Al’s team needs to reach their $250,000 goal in the next 9 days -- and they could use our help. Can you contribute $5 or more to give them a boost? Al is a pretty funny guy. But the ads up in Minnesota are serious. The chair of the Republican National Committee himself said “...we’re in play in Minnesota. Karl Rove even singled out Al in a recent Wall Street Journal article saying Minnesota is a possible pickup opportunity for Republicans. Make no mistake: they’re going after Al. Back in 2010, when Republicans and Karl Roves outside groups were coming after me, Al came out to Nevada to help. Now it’s our turn to help Al build the grassroots organization he needs to fight back. If you can, contribute $5 or more right now to help Al reach his $250,000 FEC goal before Monday’s deadline. Thank you for all the support you’ve given me. And thank you for helping Al out.
