The Ralph Diaries~ FEBRUARY 25 1967- San Antonio- Saturday- Went to Wonderland with David Kelley. We got haircuts, talked to some girls from Pat Neff and saw the Ice Show. Tonight, I babysat my brothers and sisters while Mom and Dad went out to eat. 1968- San Antonio- Sunday- Walked to 11:45 mass, at St. Andrews, with Jimmy. Mom came home from Chicago and told us all about the new house were moving into. Babysat for Bret Hunt, 6-10PM, made $2.00. 1969- Chicago- Tuesday- Klaus took me to school. Worked at KMart Foods, 5-10:15 PM. Rearranged my bedroom. Mom doesnt like it, but I do. 1971- Lubbock- Thursday- Went to school, Monterey. Worked at KMart Foods, 5-9 PM. Borrowed $5.00 from Dad. Wrote Liv a letter. 1973- Lubbock- Sunday- Worked at Piggly Wiggly, 1-4. Went by parents house. 1975- Lubbock- Wednesday- Went to classes at Tech. Drove cab tonight. 1976- Lubbock- Wednesday- Went to classes at Tech, had a business math exam. Made my loan payment. Dispatched at Yellow Cab. 1979- Lubbock- Sunday- Went to the flea market, 23rd & Ave. K. Bought 3 records and 2 necklaces. Cleaned the inside of my new car, a silver Sunbird. Went by parents house, Brandy was there. 1989- Lubbock- Saturday- Worked at University store all day. Tonight, had another boxing party, had 5 of the guys over to watch Mike Tyson beat Frank Bruno. 1992- Lubbock- Tuesday- Polly left for a business conference, in Dallas, for 3 days. Im with our 4-month old daughter, Alison, till she gets back. This oughtta be fun. We dropped Polly off at the airport and Alison kinda looked at me like, OK, Dad, now what? So, I took her by the University store and let Damon feed her while I did some business. Thats good, right? 1993- Lubbock- Thursday- Worked at 82nd st. store. Doug Dipple promoted Mickey Thomas Starship at The Depot Warehouse tonight. Bill Alston went, said nobody was there. 1995- Lubbock- Saturday- Worked at University store. Lane and I promoted a KISS tribute show tonight, at The Depot Warehouse, Strutter. 2000- Lubbock- Friday- Worked at 82nd st. store. Kenny Chesney concert tonight. 2004- Lubbock- Wednesday- Met Mark Mckenzie at Moose Magoos for lunch, at 12:30. Worked at 82nd st. store. 2007- Lubbock- Sunday- Cleaned house, did all the laundry. Joey, Max and I went to Weinerschnitzel for lunch. Polly came back from her Quilting Retreat. We hot-tubbed, with MGD Lights. Took Alison to Katies to spend the night. Bill Alston called. Polly and I watched the Academy Awards. 2009- Lubbock- Wednesday- Drained our hot tub. It was getting pretty rank. Rodney and I had lunch at Furrs. Worked at 82nd st. store with Doug, Fluitt, Markham. Talked to the guy in Zoning about my store parking lot. Picked up Joey, Steven and Colton at Monterey, took them to baseball practice. Joeys back is still hurting. Mine hurts all the time now. 2010- Lubbock- Thursday- Polly left for her annual Quilting Retreat, will be back Sunday. Took my W-2 & W-3 info to my new CPA, doesnt look like Ill get my stuff from John Arlands family on time. Doug and I tried to jumpstart Alisons car, but couldnt get it going. Talked to Katies parents in front of their house. Will have to tow it tomorrow. Bought Joey and I chili dogs at Weinerschnitzel. 2011- Lubbock- Friday- My friend, Michael Poindexter, had quadruple-bypass surgery this morning. I called his wife, Becky, later today, and she said it went well. I talked to Michael last night and wished him luck. Called Mike Vinson, made plans to visit Michael at the hospital. Went to a few estate sales, one at Dane & Robin Churchs house. I thought I had landlord headaches til I heard they own 85 rent houses. They were selling lots of confiscated property from non-rent paying tenants. Had lunch with Gwynn Broome, at Olive Garden. She is moving to Austin next week. Store very busy today, Avenged Sevenfold tickets went on sale today. Talked to Polly on the phone, from Snyder, said shes feeling better. 2012- Lubbock- Saturday- Polly still in Snyder. Went to work at 3:00, worked until 8:00. Lots of crazy people in tonight, including Crazy Renee, who thinks Paul McCartney is going to marry her. She claims she wrote all the lyrics for the songs on Pauls new album. Shes also a doctor and wrote me a prescription for anti-stress pills. Met Mike V. at Nicks for food and lots of beer. 2013- Ransom Canyon- Monday- Blizzard Day. Snowed a lot, wind blew hard all day. Amarillo got 19 of snow! I had actually been thinking of driving up there today. We only got about 3 of snow, but it was cold and icy all day. I stayed home and did my taxes, something Id been putting off. Took me all day and all night. Wonder how much I will owe...Kept in touch with my store. They werent doing much business, so I let them close at 6. 2014- Ransom Canyon- Tuesday- Ate lunch at Furrs. A SPC student came to the store today to interview me for his class, it was fun. After, Jeff Nicholson and I went to Billy Sims Trailer Town. Eric Sims called, knows I have a crush on the local weather girl, Nikki-Dee Scott, and she was doing a promo appearance at his store. She was very nice, had our picture taken. Shes about half my age, so Pollys not too worried. It was fun, shes a real pro on TV.
