The Republican ideology today of course is far far from what it - TopicsExpress

The Republican ideology today of course is far far from what it started out as or was even in the 1950s where one could argue it was more progressive than todays Democratic Party! (sadly so) The Republican Party todays adopted an anti government, anti worker, extreme ideology which seeks to eviscerate all regulatory power of the Federal Government ostensibly with the aim of freeing the power of the free market to solve all of our problems but actually with the aim of freeing the multinational corporate market to mine every last bit of profit from the Earth and all of us who work on it without any restrictions that protect the health of the planet or its workers and consumers. This of course is not only dangerous and disastrous but immoral and unsustainable. But sustainability is not even a concern for the modern Republican Party nor its billionaire backers. They have long since abandoned the American middle class taking our factories and union jobs from us and putting their money Cayman Island banks and the US stock market where they manipulate it for greater earnings without producing any new jobs or paying taxes that help us sustain our middle class. So how can we vote for anyone in a political party with such a reckless shortsighted and rigid ideology and still adhere to the notion that we are a nation that respects our workers and cares for our poor and vulnerable?
