A moving film, and a testament to Linklaters skill as a director. Many directors cant keep a film project together for twelve months, but Linklater kept this production going for more then a decade. The result is unique. The extended production, and the films long length, allows the director to get away from a unified, structured narrative and into a more confused, looser world, one closer to experience. Worth seeing. That said, the most amusing review Ive heard for this film came from some stranger I was talking to in the Nova cinema toilets: I aged more watching that film then the main character did acting it.
