The Republicans taking the Senate and making gains in the house is as much a rebuke on the Obama Presidency as the Democrats taking over was on the Bush Presidency, as in its not. Simply put, history tells us it is in the nature of the voter to go against the incumbent presidential party during midterms. The shift in the legislature is nothing more than a symptom of an ailing two party political system that sees the electorate scurry back and forth every decade or so assuming it will change something. This isnt a elect a Libertarian and see a magic wand apear argument, just an observation of voters nature. Today if you feel like something was gained, remember that the last time the Republicans held power the started us on the road map the Democrats followed when they took power. Cronyism, middle class tax payer supported war, and corporate welfare while the plebeians starve. The problems are systemic not partisan. There is nothing to celebrate in a system where choice is an illusion and corruption is a standard operating procedure. Heres to the activists that fight for real change. Heres to the dedicated, with their feet on the ground and their hands pulling hope from the mud; youre the victory.
