The Role of the Whistleblower The role of the whistleblower is fundamental to oversight of organisations wherein their leadership has failed to design and incorporate mechanisms to allow complaints to be reported to senior management and for such complaints to be handled in a manner that provides full protection to the whistleblower. The consequences of organisations and/or governments failing to put such mechanisms into place have led to whistleblowers making decision of conscience to sacrifice their safety, security, liberty and, at times, their own life to expose institutional wrongs and injustices. Examples of such are Edward Snowden, Chelsea Manning and Julian Assange. visionfirstnow.org/2014/04/30/the-role-of-the-whistleblower-and-christian-action/
