Fides has the round up for pastoral care workers known to have been killed in 2013. Nearly double the number for 2012. (Curiously, Google informed me when I tried to find this list yesterday, 2013 was also an unusually dangerous year for LDS missionaries.) None of the list are Americans, though the article does mention the murder of Fr Freed is still being investigated. (I would note, though, Fr Mushi, though born and killed in Tanzania, did study and serve in parishes here in the U.S.) None are Breton, so far as I know; Sr Marie Emmanuel Helesbeux, the only French person, appears to have been from Sarthe. There was one Canadian killed in Haiti. Colombia and Mexico continue to dominate the lists. The article also talks about movement toward beatification for some missionaries. And, of course, the list is only those cases known -- hence the emphasis on priests -- and not the unknown martyrs. All the martyrs, orate pro nobis.
