The Royal St Vincent & the Grenadines Police force has made their usually commitment to the public in ensuring a safe and violent free carnival. According to Assistance superintendent of police Jonathan Nichols, the Police are aware of the very important role that is place in the general role of the festival and 2013 is no exemption in protecting the visitors and citizen safety. Nichols say he is happy that this request was adhere to because over the years the rural carnival has put a strain on the resources of the police, especially taking into consideration that the rural carnivals are build up to the festival and is the same police officers who have to come back and ensure that the final 10 days are as safe as possible. Nichols want to remind the Public of the no glass policy which has worked tremendously well in favour of the general public and the police, which shows in the record that there are less incident of wounding. He further said that he wants to ensure that the police have zero tolerance to crime and violence, and reiterated that the police are not here to spoil or restrict the enjoyment or the fun of carnival lovers. Nichols said that their duty is to ensure that things are safe and their duty to the cooperation is expected to be that way, and that their present is not to prevent you from having fun but to ensure that you have fun in a good clean manner, that is not affecting the life’s of others in a negative manner.
