The Sag Harbor Fire Department responded to a call for a smoke - TopicsExpress

The Sag Harbor Fire Department responded to a call for a smoke condition on the 2nd Floor of the Yacht Club. Chief Tom Gardella directed all operations from the Command Post. 5 Engines, Heavy Rescue, and an ALS Ambulance responded. The source of the smoke was believed to be a hot water heater, which was turned off. Members checked for extension with negative results. There was a high potential for extension due to the wood frame structure and a marina filled with fiberglass yachts with large amounts of gasoline and fuel onboard. Great response and turnout by firefighters that responded to the scene in private vehicle with gear. Nice Operation, by the Sag Harbor Fire Department and Chief Gardella!
