When there is a person whose behavior is an habitual problem at work, we talk ourselves in to tolerating it. Soon, we find ourselves and the team in a rut of negativity, anger, and frustration. Everything is infected with a bad attitude and it shows. We decide to stay in the rut and pay the price because we do not want to deal with the situation. Most people do not like confrontation and a problematic person is usually very confrontational when approached. By using their anger or abrasive personality, the problem person keeps everyone hostage in the rut of negativity. You have to decide how much longer you are going to allow them to do this.
