The Sandwich Police Department responded to 328 calls for service in October. 87 calls for Service were handled during Sandwich Fair from 4 p.m. Friday October 11 through 8 p.m. Monday October 15. Crimes, Arrests and Accidents: 10/9: Criminal Mischief reported on Range Rd. Burglary reported on Mount Israel Rd. 10/11: Shoplifting report by a Sandwich Fair Vendor. MV accident reported on Wentworth Hill Rd. 10/12: SPD and Moultonboro PD assisted State Police at a domestic dispute on Heritage Woods Rd. Missing/ Runaway juvenile reported off of North Sandwich Rd. The juvenile was located on 10/13. 10/13: SPD received a report of a Violation of a Protective Order. Dale Twardosky of Belmont was later arrested for Violation of a Protection Order. Criminal Mischief on Whiteface Rd. Attempted Fraud on Little Pond Rd. 10/14: Burglary on Miner Rd. A juvenile was taken into custody for Criminal Trespass on Sandwich Fairgrounds. Just a reminder to folks to stay alert. If you see or hear something that does not sit right with you - report it! Remember to lock your doors and windows. Its staying darker later in morning and getting darker earlier in the evening, so remember to have your headlights on one half hour after sunrise and one half hour before sunset. Stay alert and watch for pedestrians and bicyclists. Bicyclists per state law if riding at night your bicycle must be equipped with a headlight and your bicycle must have reflectors. Pedestrians, please remember to walk against traffic. Please wear something light colored or reflective and carry a light with you while walking at night.
