The Second Coming of Jesus is not an idea discovered by Jesus’s disciples or a committee of theologians. The Second Coming of Jesus is the grand finale of the work of salvation planned by God before the creation of the world. From Genesis to Revelations the Bible presents Gods work of redemption as an ongoing process. From the fall of man in Eden when the first lamb died to cover man’s nakedness to the “Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world;” God has been unfolding & fulfilling his plan for the salvation of humanity. God’s work of redemption will culminate in Christ’s glorious appearing. Under oath Jesus promised “I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power & coming on the clouds of heaven.” Matthew 26:64.
