The Serbian Heritage Museum, at the Serbian Centre on Tecumseh Rd., E, is planning an Exhibit to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of WWI Internment Camps on Friday, August 22, 2014 commencing at 10:30am. The Museum is fortunate to be the recipient of one of 100 plaques to be unveiled simultaneously at 100 different locations across Canada at exactly 11:00am. This event will recall Canadas first national internment operations of 1914-1920 which affected Canadians holding Austro-Hungarian passports. It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in this tribute to mark the memory of the thousands of enemy aliens, many of them Serbs, who had their civil rights stripped with a stroke of a pen.
