The Slope ratings for NSW and ACT golf clubs have been released. Our toughest course is the 19-9 layout off the blue plates which has a slope rating of 125. Surprisingly the next hardest is 10-27 off the blues with 1-18 the easiest. Off the whites 19-9 is still our hardest course, 1-18 next and 10-27 third hardest. Slope has been introduced to rank the difficulty of courses so that handicaps can be adjusted up or down based on the ratings...so if you play a course like Bonville which has a slope rating of 148, you can expect a few extra shots on your handicap. Play an easier course, though and your handicap may drop for that round. A complete listing is available on the Golf NSW web site. By the way, the hardest course in the region? Bathurst with a rating of 136 of the back plates.
