The Solstice has passed and the Sewage Sludgers begin plotting - TopicsExpress

The Solstice has passed and the Sewage Sludgers begin plotting their Spring campaign. Yesterday, I went on a four-hour uphill mountain bike trek, past several prior-year dump sites (still filled with veggie labels), up to an area of mixed historically-dumped and never-dumped sites, up where the purest of waters from the high Cascades emerge from atop numerous plutonic formations, 20 or so miles west of the Cascade crest. These upwellings of water yield pure fresh snow melt, glacier melt and fresh rain that has never seen a sludge pile. There are actual, functional wetlands atop these plutonic mounds, now covered in lush forests, including some that have never-been-cut. It’s the only place where I drink the waters right out of the earth. Yesterday was spent imaging algae, fungi, insects, lizards, frogs, and all that will disappear at first sludging; they are sensitive to sludge toxicity, and all will die. This is Ecosystem Disruption. None of this would be destroyed if the Clean Water Act were to be enforced. Tree farming we can deal with; that is the nature of commerce in the Northwest; total destruction of Puget Sound by Land-Disposed Sewage Sludge - Not! - Water from out of the earth, way atop a high ridge - Old growth still there - Seattle, 30 miles to the west-south-west - Northern Alligator Lizard, Elgaria coerulea, thriving here, for now, waiting for the Spring sludge killing season
