The Story of Aam Janata! The history of bangle online community is not too old. It has been just a few years that the young generation of Bangladesh started to be active in social media, blogging and other electronics media about the national issues and problems. Although it enlightened and made aware a good number of educated Bangladeshis on online, but sadly this awareness didnt get transformed in to action on offline and real life. There was a trend of this sad pessimistic interlude that “nothing good is going to happen to this rotten country, we are doomed for good” in online and offline. People would just keep blaming the country and the system! After the post 75’s dramatic changes in political theater the following generations were affected by severe moral and identity crisis and slow poison of inferiority complex. They inherited the frustration and the inferior complexes from their pre-generation and joined in this blame game too. People would just keep blaming the system for the anarchy, lack of discipline and limitless corruption! But nobody would ask the ultimate question of JFK, “ask not what this country has given you but rather ask what you gave to this country!” From the ashes of incompetence and selfish escapist tendency, few youngsters rose above and started to take responsibility to change this society, to ask for their deserved rite, to do some good beyond the activism in electronics media. The date was 30th April 2012. Some young patriots gathered in a common platform to bring some positive change to their dearest land of green, red and gold! Aamjanata was formed. The word Aam came from the Persian word- Awam, that means subjects or commoners. Through slangs of local dialects, it came down to aam. In Bengal aam also means one of the most favourite fruit of the nation, Mango. Somehow these two meanings were connected with each other. It came down to Aam janata- Mango people- the common people or simply put- The people! Aamjanata were always there. It’s just that they never had their voice. Hence the rise and march toward a better Bangladesh of these youngsters, to be the voice of the people, to be the hands of the people, to march forward! Mission Protest against Eve teasing.
