The Sunday before Jim Clark went to surgery, we needed to move a refrigerator to the garage. Jim reluctantly called the guys in his small group, but because he knew they were busy, he hated to put them out. And of course, he could not help one bit with moving the thing, which forced him into explaining:Im headed for open heart surgery in the morning. These men, Wes Hamm, Brad Turley, and Michael Fritz gathered around Jim in the garage and prayed. That moment will forever remain with me, as a comfort and encouragement that the Lord was with Jim. Women: release your men to spend time with other godly men. Your man will be a better husband and father for it. Men: Get involved in a small group and be a servant in even modest ways-you never know how the Lord will use you. These guys thought they were coming over to move a refrigerator. They ended up escorting my husband to eternity. Michael Fritz, Wes Hamm, and Brad Turley: thank you for this send off, and thank you for being in my mans life.
