The Thomas Müllerson Take 4/5 SAYRE SPEEDWAY New postby Chris Thomason on Sun Apr 06, 2014 3:05 a Buzz - 8 cars Webster 90 and Kilpatricks 88 make the front row to kick off the night. Kilpatrick leads down to the first corner where Rocket Russ Holley 43 follows him by Webster. Russ was looking for more and sticks his nose under ,but Kilpatricks slams the door down at turn three. Kilpatrick leads the first few laps but does relinquish the top spot off turn two on lap three. Kilpatrick was able to stay with Russ as Brandon Holley 2 works to the top five. Lap five, good race up front and some contact sends Russ sideways off four but he wheels in back and keeps the point. B Holley gets by Braswells 34 then begins to work on Frost 22 as the leaders get the half sign. Brandon gets third from Frost on lap ten ,and the leaders are still rather close. Braswell was throwing sparks from the RF like a rotor was coming apart but it didnt seem to be much of an issue whatever it may have been. Clear racetrack for the top three now with two to go. Russ takes the white with Kilpatrick still at the back door and Brandon closing. Kilpatrick drives deep down to turn three but just couldnt get there and Russ picks up his first W on the 2014 season! Top 3; 43 88 2 Street Stock - 13 cars. Pierce ran 15.02 and rolled 3 The dice put Garners 15 P1 with Doss 6 along side. Durett 55 spins out right on the start ,but Doss motored down in front of Garner. Garner got crossed up through the middle of the corner and looked to be spinning out but turned it back right then does spin right after the corner. Some of the front running cars slipped past Garner ,but Samuels 50 ,not paying attention to the light or the other ten cars at caution pace, comes in from the back and slams full throttle into the LF fender of 15. Hell of a wreck here. Pierce 2 was sent to the pit for a leaky trans during this red flag. Doss had the point in turn one on the restart. Jordan 09 slid off two and loses a handful of position when Rotenberry 18, Greathouse 27, and MacKay 11 all go by three wide. Doss lead the first lap and Durett loops again. Pierce goes back to the pit now. Quick hot lap to take care of the stuff from 2 ,I suppose. Doss had an awesome restart and Rotenberry goes right to work on MacKays outside. That didnt work as Rotenberry hoped ,but he soon got the inside line to take the spot and pulls Cagles 98 along to while Greathouse raced Adams 12 for second. The 55 heap slowed on the front and caught on fire a tiny bit. The guy decided to stop right in the middle of the track and use the extinguisher. They got the restart and Rotenberry gets under Adams into one sometime just after green. Adams held tough on the outside for a few laps but Rotenberry finally gets clear as Doss is shown crossed flags. Rotenberry was reeling him in while Adams and Cagle were in a great toe to toe bout for third place. Rotenberry had closed to within four or five lengths and carries the car way off into three on the white flag lap. Doss knew he was there and slides off four as he had is foot on the mat all the way past the checkered! Top 3; 6 18 12 Mini Mod - 13 cars. Derrick Moore had the quick time at 14.51. Rolled 3 Kyle Moore 25 started on the pole with Capps 05 outside. It was a dead heat to the first turn then K Moore drifted off two just enough to touch the Capps ride. D Moore 1 and Gunter 48 both go low of Capps then Moore goes around in turn four after some contact from 48. Several other cars involved but before everyone could continue, Moore held up the show getting outta the car and putting on like he wanted a fight. Kirkpatrick 73 and Stanleys 4 had to be pulled apart by the tow truck. On the complete restart, Capps led Moore 25 to turn one this time but the yellow is right back out because Derrick Moores hood flew off. Capps got the holeshot again ,but slides off two giving way to 25 and 48. Those guys touch and the other Moore brother goes around. Derrick ,hard on the brake, spun out and Stanley 4 crashed into him. Green flies and Capps didnt go, pulled off high, and rode this caution into the pit. Gunter was put on the rear here and Im not sure why. This time Tyler Rice 33 was slow on the start and stacks the outside line. Scott Rice 6 heads off with the point but Uptain 93 keeps it close while Derrick and Gunter are pickin em up and sittin em down. They caught the two lead cars around about lap eight and Moore gave Uptain the boost he need to get clear of Rice. Moore follows to run second. Uptain takes the half while Gunter makes his own way past Rice to take over third. Moore got the line under Uptain and holds the door open for Gunter. With six to go Gunter slipped off four and gave Moore plenty of room. After another couple laps, Garner spins in four and caution is on display. Moore drags the start way down but Gunter is with him at he hit. Days between second and third making it the two horse race that everyone wanted. Rice managed to overtake Uptain at two to go. Gunter was there through the closing laps but never could quite get the nose under and Moore survives the night and shakes a bit of the bad luck. He wept a little about how things work on a 1/4 mile short track during his victory interview with ol busy Brandon Parker. Top 3; 1 48 6 Low - 5 cars. Matt Martin poled at 14.14. Rolled 2 Key 0 and Martins 68 make this front row. They raced down to one but Key nosed out down the back. Wade 02 took a peek under Matt into three but those positions are maintained as Nick Martin 88 clears James 5. I missed a mishap just off turn four with Butch Wade and Nick. I really dont know what happened but James was collected and towed. Restart and Matt quickly works up Key. Nick needed by Wade and took her a little far into three and switches ends through the corner. Another restart then Nick finally pulls to third when Wade slipped off two a number of laps after the green. Key started hangin the back end out and caught some contact from Matt Martin a couple times. Key falls to the tail with his new tire rub. Matt gets the half with Nick close. Nick put together a few consistent laps and had Matt right where he wanted him but caution was out when Key spun out on the front shoot.?. The closing laps gave us a great race between two different Martin families as Matts car was pretty steady and Nick had trouble getting off two but was twice as fast on entry. Matt kept his level head to hold off the hard charging and accomplished 88! Top 3; 68 88 02 Outlaw- 7 cars. 13.64 was Barry Martins fast time. Rolled 3 Nate the Great Davis 05 had the point with Sanford jr 79 along side. Davis leads to one and Martin 68 follows him past Sanford. Martin waste no time and drives by Davis when they come back by the flagstand. Sanford tried to hitch on to 68 but Davis falls in line after some turn four contact. Sanford does take over second place a few laps later. Davis didnt give up and earns his spot back on lap ten. Davis was within three or four lengths at halfway but Martin went mostly the entire race uncontested. Top 3; 68 05 79 Renegade - 6 cars Tucker 7 and Waters 75 was the front row. Waters powers to the point over in turn one. Third through sixth run two by two for a couple laps. Tucker and Philip Waters 1 both hang it way out off four and both did a good job hangin on to the cars. Wayne is long gone by now leaving Pinegar 23 to block P Waters. They go by the half and Waters makes his own lane jumpin the curb nut does get inside of Pinegar. Tucker has spun out and sits parked in 3&4. Waters and Pinegar race toward him almost ending in a big crash. Waters and Pinegar both go around the outside of Tucker just as his car fires up and almost takes out Bryan Samples as he throttles it out of the way. Wayne Waters served up a beat down. Top 3; 75 1 55
