The Trinity is an embarrassment to scholars and other readers of the Bible! Jesus defined GOD and there was no mystery in the mind of Jesus about how many GOD is. Jesus affirmed the unitary monotheistic confession of his heritage from Deut. 6:4. "The LORD our God is one LORD," Jesus said (Mk 12:29). He then went on immediately to add the indispensable information of Ps. 110:1, where the ONE GOD speaks to another lord! Now logically that second lord cannot be GOD, since God is one Lord! The second lord is indeed in the Hebrew ADONI, and that form of the word lord is in all of its 195 occurrences a non-Deity superior. That is really very easy to grasp. There is one God, the Father and one man Messiah (I Tim 2:5). None of this was in any doubt in NT times.
