The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs says it is firing four senior officials -- moves made amid investigations of alleged long wait times at VA medical facilities. The VA said it is in the process of firing the directors of the VA health care systems in Pittsburgh and central Alabama, as well as the director of the VA medical center in Dublin, Georgia, and the VAs deputy chief procurement director in Washington. VA will actively and aggressively pursue disciplinary action on those who violate our values. There should be no doubt that when we discover evidence of wrongdoing, we will hold employees accountable, VA Deputy Secretary Sloan Gibson said.
