The U.S. guarantees no paid leave for mothers...leaving it in the company of only 3 other nations: Liberia, Papua New Guinea, and Swaziland. I am fortunate to work for a great company that did offer me paid leave, and I am fortunate that we found excellent child care for our kids. But saying that leaving my newborn babies at 6 weeks was difficult is an understatement...we were just starting to bond, I was not getting any sleep, and my body was still healing. And I am one of the lucky ones in the U.S. who actually got ANY leave. If this issue upsets you too, theres actually a bill before Congress that could do something about it...
