The UK Parliament has backed British participation in air strikes - TopicsExpress

The UK Parliament has backed British participation in air strikes against Islamic State extremists in Iraq. MPs voted for military action by 524 votes to 43 after a seven-hour debate. RAF planes could be called into action as early as Sunday. David Cameron said the intervention at the request of the Iraqi government was morally justified to combat a brutal terrorist organisation and was clearly lawful. Cameron also warns it could take could years, possibly a decade. The Red Conservative leader Ed Milipede said inaction would lead to more killing in Iraq. Really!? And bombing civilian areas where Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant have embedded themselves into wont!? Only Labour MP John McDonnell, who voted against the move, can hold his head up by stating the obvious: previous interventions in Iraq was one of the causes of the emergence of the jihadist movement. Kudos also to Ian McKenzie, who had to resign in order to vote against it. Strange democracy we live in when one of our supposed elected representatives has to stand down for simply not agreeing to his partys direction. Simply put, the United Kingdom is back at war to satisfy British war-mongering unionists situated in Westminster and Americas own imperialist interests. Doesnt matter how much Dave glamorises it, its unlawful in accordance to international law and has no credible pretext whatsoever. Where was the same urgency for Gaza!? We attacking North Korea any time soon? What about Myanmar; India; Ukraine; China; Zimbabwe to name it a few!? The reality is that already there is growing support for the Sunni extremist Islamic State, with civilians congregating together bearing the black standard flag with shahada text. Just under 200 people, many of them civilians, have been killed in US-led airstrikes. Diplomatic solutions are the only way in ending what is becoming a never-ending cycle of violence, hatred and frustration.
